Company Directors

Dr. Adam Chowaniec

Dr. Adam Chowaniec is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Liquid Computing & Tundra Semiconductor Corporation and Executive in Residence at Vengrowth Capital Partners Inc. Adam has held several progressive engineering and executive management positions across the technology spectrum ranging from the Personal Computer through to communications integrated circuits. As Vice President of Technology with Commodore International, he was responsible for the development of the Amiga Personal Computer. Adam has served on numerous boards of directors in the United States and Canada, including Amiga and GEAC Computer Corporations. He currently serves on the boards of Microbridge Inc., and Bel Air Networks. Adam holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University (Canada), as well as both a Bachelor of Engineering and a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield (England).

Ken Wigglesworth

Ken is a Senior Managing Director of Newbury Ventures, a venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ken serves or has served on the boards of a number of Newbury portfolio companies including Sandvine (listed on AIM and TSX), Liquid Computing, Meriton, Bridgewater Systems, Spotwave Wireless, NewStep Networks, Abridean (acquired by nCipher), Laurel Networks (acquired by ECI) and Highwave Optical Technologies (listed on Euronext). Prior to joining Newbury, Ken spent 13 years at Newbridge Networks and was the company’s CFO from 1996 until the successful $8B Alcatel/Newbridge merger in 2000. Ken earned his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1987.

Patrick (Pat) DiPietro

Pat is a Managing General Partner at VenGrowth and Liquid Computing board member. Pat joined VenGrowth in 2001, and has more than 29 years of experience in high technology. Pat serves as a member of the board of directors of several VenGrowth investees, including Neterion (chairman), BelAir Networks, SiGe Semiconductor Inc., BTI Systems, Liquid Computing Corporation, Nakina Systems Inc. and is a former board member of Sandvine Inc., now a public company. Before joining VenGrowth, Pat was a Vice President of 3G Wireless Systems at Nortel Networks. He previously occupied senior managerial roles in R&D and operations within Nortel and BNR. Pat has been responsible for product development and operations across wireless, optical, switching, and enterprise sectors and has launched several highly successful network products. Pat was also a founder of The Ottawa Network and a board member of OCRI, two non-for-profits focused on enabling the growth of local tech firms. Pat holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University.

Pete Thomas

Pete Thomas is a cofounder and Managing Director of ATA Ventures in Redwood City, California. In addition, he has been a General Partner with Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) in Menlo Park, California since 1985. Mr. Thomas has an engineering and marketing background having spent 14 years in various operating positions in technology companies including Intel, Fairchild, and Sylvania EDL. He is presently a Director of three public companies: Atmel Corporation, @Road and Transmeta. In addition, he is a director of several private companies. He has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University and an MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Santa Clara.

Rick Timmins

Rick Timmins brings more than 30 years of experience in finance management for global technology leaders to provide business oversight and strategic financial guidance for Liquid Computing. Mr. Timmins served as vice president of finance at Cisco Systems, Inc., where he worked to provide customers and partners with a thorough understanding of the company’s finance practices and led finance leadership development efforts. Prior to Cisco, Mr. Timmins was responsible for all financial aspects of international manufacturing, design, sales and marketing at Motorola Semiconductors. In this position, he was heavily involved in the development of Motorola’s cellular operations in Japan, growing the business from $300 million to over $2 billion. Mr.Timmins serves on the Board of Directors of Ultratech Inc. and Transmeta Corporation. In addition, he is a member of the M.B.A. Advisory Board for the University of Arizona’s Business School and the St. Edward’s University Advisory Board in Austin, Texas. Mr. Timmons holds an M.B.A. from St. Edward’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jennifer Dean Brooy

Jennifer Brooy has over 20 years of financing experience, including corporate and structured finance, venture capital investing, workouts and contract dispute resolution. In 1997, she joined EDC to serve on the Energy Industry Team structuring corporate loans and international project financing. Currently, Ms. Brooy heads up the Equity Team (EDC’s private investment arm for both direct and indirect investing) and serves as a member or observer on several Strategic Advisory Boards and Boards of Directors. Prior to joining EDC, Ms. Brooy worked for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bank of America and a management consultancy firm. Ms. Brooy holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Toronto and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business.

Krish Panu

Board of Directors - Krish Panu Krish Panu brings more than two decades of business strategy, engineering, and operational experience to Liquid Computing. Most recently, he was Chairman, CEO and President of @Road, Inc., a worldwide leader in Mobile Resource Management solutions. As CEO, he aggressively built @Road into one of the world’s first profitable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies. @Road went public in 2000 and was acquired by Trimble in 2007 for $496M. Mr. Panu holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University in Michigan.

Randy Taylor - Corporate Secretary & Counsel

Randy Taylor is a co-founding partner of LaBarge Weinstein LLP, a business law firm. Randy's practice focuses on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and technology-related transactions for clients ranging from emerging and public technology companies, venture capital investors and investment banks. Randy is a 1993 graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and a 1987 graduate of Harvard University (Economics). Prior to co- founding LaBarge Weinstein LLP with Paul LaBarge, Debbie Weinstein and Lawrence Weinstein, Randy was a member of the Ottawa office of Blake, Cassels & Graydon, where he practised in the Business Law Group.

Tom Allen

Tom Allen worked for @Road Inc. for 8 years serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. During this time the company grew in revenue from one million dollars to over 100 million before being acquired by Trimble Navigation Ltd. In this role he was responsible for managing @Road's Information Technology infrastructure, as well as @Road’s Customer Service functions. This included providing leadership for the company's network, computing, software development and internal systems design and support teams. Prior to @Road Mr. Allen served as Vice President of Network Engineering at Visa International where he led the voice and data network engineering and operations functions. In this capacity he played a key role in the rollout of Visa’s E-Commerce initiatives, enabling Visa to launch key internet based services including SET(Secure Electronic Transaction) and Bankruptcy/Fraud Risk Prediction Services. Mr. Allen’s team successfully built two large fault tolerant internet portal sites in the US and Europe in support of these programs. Prior to that Mr. Allen managed the Technology Integration Division of the IT organization at Edison International, where he oversaw development projects in the TCP-IP networking and client/server computing areas. Mr. Allen testified before the California Public Utilities Commission in support of technology initiatives and projects at EI. Mr. Allen holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo, an MBA from San Jose State University and a Certificate in Executive Management from the Peter F. Drucker Management Center at the Claremont Graduate University. Mr. Allen also completed studies in the Stanford Business School Executive Education Program.

Joe Roebuck

Joe Roebuck has more than 30 years of experience in computer industry sales and marketing. He was Vice President Worldwide Sales for Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation. He built the sales organization from a force of 14 people and $9 million in sales, to a force of 10,000 sales, systems engineering, and information technology specialists and $18 billion in sales. Joe is credited with building one of the most effective and successful sales organizations in the technology industry. Prior to joining Sun Microsystems, Joe very briefly was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Osborne Computer, Director of Vertical Marketing and Education Marketing at Apple Computer, and Vice President of Western Sales Area at Honeywell Information Systems. Joe graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Economics, and is a graduate of the AMP Program at the Harvard Business School.

Dr. Iwao Toda

As an award-winning engineer and accomplished author, Dr. Toda has distinguished himself within the computing and telecommunications sectors with well over 30 years of engineering and executive management experience. He has spent twelve years working with Fujitsu, most recently as a Fellow in the laboratories. Prior to joining Fujitsu, he was an executive Vice President of NTT, Research and Development. Dr. Toda led the development of the DIPS project, a large-scale online computer series that ushered in a new class of telecommunications service in Japan.
