Oil and Gas Industry Veteran to Lead Energy Sales Organization

Houston, TX & Ottawa, Canada – June 19, 2007Liquid Computing Inc., a developer of a new class of scalable computing system, today announced the appointment of Nick Weston to lead the company’s World Wide Energy Sales team. Nick will support the rapidly growing demand in the oil and gas industry for LiquidIQ™.

Nick Weston brings over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to Liquid Computing.  Nick was previously responsible for world wide sales for the oil and gas industry at Hewlett-Packard (HP).  Prior to that he spent 18 years with Sun Microsystems, most recently as Director of Sales for the Oil and Gas Industry. Before his time at Sun, Nick worked directly in the oil and gas industry in a variety of roles for Schlumberger and Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA).

“I am very happy to be joining the Liquid Computing team and excited about the potential for LiquidIQ to disruptively change the reservoir simulation and modeling paradigm,” said Nick Weston, Director of World Wide Energy Sales for Liquid Computing. “With product shipping today, LiquidIQ is offering an unprecedented 40% or better performance improvement along with linear performance scaling to over 64 processors.  For end users in the oil and gas industry this speed increase means better production decisions and faster matching of production data to simulation thereby improving return and yield of the hydrocarbons produced. LiquidIQ is bringing the industry one step closer to the nirvana of near real-time simulations.”

“Nick knows the oil and gas industry intimately.  His first job out of university was as a Well Site Geologist with Schlumberger, followed by taking on the role of Senior Reservoir Geologist consulting to PDVSA,” said Robert De Martino, VP World Wide Sales at Liquid Computing.  “Nick can appreciate our customers’ needs, concerns and viewpoints based on his personal experiences.”
